Entertainment
In Ireland
If
there is one sphere in which Ireland shines, it is entertainment. The
Tourist Board publishes a yearly calendar of events and activities that
lists major entertainment sources. Following are a few activities that
I thought would be fun to do when you are in Ireland.
Fishing : The claim that Ireland is a paradise for anglers is no
exaggeration. Coarse, game and sea-fishing all enjoy widespread popularity.
The lakes and rivers are home to bream, pike, perch and roach. The Kingfisher
Angling centre, near River Bann, is one of the many centres to provide
accommodation for anglers on holiday. Coastal rivers yield the famous
Irish Salmon, and among other game fish, sea trout and brown trout also
offer anglers a real challenge.
Sailing
: A Tranquil cruising holiday is an ideal alternative to the stress
and strain of driving, and Ireland's 14500 km of rivers and some 800 lakes
offer huge variety of conditions for those who want a waterborne holiday.
A popular sailing area is between Cork and the Dingle Peninsula. The International
Training Centre, near Cork, offers tuition.
