Entertainment
In Ireland
Irish
Film Centre : The Film Institute of Ireland works to broaden the range
of films available to Irish audiences by presenting a continuous programme
of new releases, retrospectives, festivals, and special events in the
Irish Film Centre Cinemas in Dublin . In particular, the programme concentrates
on significant films which are unlikely to receive commercial distribution
in Ireland. It reflects a full range of world cinema, with particular
commitments to European cinema and to Irish film-making. It has a bar
which is Dublin's liveliest and most popular meeting places. It is the
social centre of the IFC, and an ideal place to have a meal or drink before
going to the cinema.
Theatre
: From international tours to amateur productions, there is an excellent
theatre to be seen in virtually every location in Ireland. The picture
on the right is the Point Theatre which is the country's top live music
arena's and is a popular venue for hit musicals. There are several other
good theatres such as Abbey Theatre and Gate Theatre in Dublin and the
Druid Theatre in Galway. Also, keep an eye on small theatre groups performing
in local halls around the country. Many of them are superb and they have
spawned several of Ireland's leading actors
