Main Post Offices in the Republic are usually open from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. during the week and 9a.m.-1p.m. on Saturdays. Stamps are available from the post office or through over 2000 retail outlets including many hotel reception desks. Though it is improving all the time, the postal services in the Republic are still quite slow as it takes 3-4 days for a letter to reach UK and at least 6 days for a letter to the US.
