My
Visit To Dublin
First
Impressions
The
flight was really long as I had a stopover in Paris, which is my dream
destination. Although I viewed it from a height and strolled around the
airport, the feeling of being so close to it made me feel good!. And after
a few hours, I finally arrived in Dublin. Would I recognise my sister
after so many years ?!? When I got off the plane and collected my luggage
and went into the Arrivals Hall - I saw Niki holding a card with my name
on it !!! But I recognised her anyway - It was a good feeling to meet
her after such a long time and I also met Dave - it was my first proper
interaction with a Britisher and I found him to be really cool! We then
drove to their house which was an hour away from the airport . Dave said
the traffic was very busy, but compared to Mumbai the roads and the traffic
seemed heaven to me!!!
We
passed through Dublin City and my first impressions of Ireland and Dublin
were that it was very strange - so many foreigners (phirangs - as we call
it in India)!!! And not any Indians - I was busy looking at the people
and the sudden switchover was scary!! Also, the buildings and the architecture
all looked very different from Mumbai and Dubai. All houses were like
those traditional houses in England, all of which I had only seen in the
movies. And the weather was so cold, but Dave and Niki said that it was
summer and for Ireland, it was very warm!!!. It was even more shiver-making
to imagine what the winter would be like!
